No recession blues for the BPO industry 23-Feb-2009
PUNE: Contrary to rumours, the BPO industry is seeing a boom as the recession in the USA has resulted in more work being outsourced to India, said Alok Roy, vice president, Orion CALLTECH, BPO training division of Orion Edutech Private Limited.
Besides, the domestic market requires a lot of back office operations so there is great scope for employment in sectors like telecom, railways, Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) and Public Sector Units (PSUs), he added.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the first training centre for the call centre of Orion CALLTECH in Pune, which was opened on FC road recently.
Currently there are 25 centres of Orion CALLTECH in Maharashtra, which will go up to 100 by the beginning of 2010, said Roy.
The course fees would range from Rs 5,000 to 20,000 and students would be taught different course like English language, fundamentals of computers, personality development and call centre training. This is the 150th branch of Orion in the country. |
