AHMEDABAD: Anil Ambani-controlled Reliance Communications plans to set up a 1,000-seat call centre in Gujarat.

Sources said the company has approached the state government for discussing the possible incentives which can be offered to the company.

ADAG’s infocomm division already operates a 4,000-seat call centre in Mumbai, which employs over 11,000 people. It also operates a 1,200-seat centre in Chennai catering to the entire south India.

“The company plans to set up a new call centre in Ahmedabad for servicing its western region operations. At present, ADAG is checking out several locations in western region for its call centre expansion plans,” said sources.

The company has, so far, not finalised the location in Gujarat but it is said to be interested in Ahmedabad.

“So far the call centre business of ADAG has been centralised in Mumbai. But with increasing national presence the company now plans to reach out to other regions where Reliance Infocomm offers its services,” said sources.
