Accenture arm to double its global headcount
TIMES NEWS NETWORK, Friday, September 29, 2006

PUNE: Accenture Information Management Services (AIMS), the Business Intelligence (BI) arm of Accenture, the technology services and outsourcing company has plans to double its global headcount from 3,000 to 6,000 by the next fiscal.

The headcount in India currently is 1,400 people and a major chunk of the increase is expected to come here. The company is also developing centres of excellence in data analytics and data migration streams of BI in India, taking advantage of the huge talent pool available in the country.

“There is a huge talent pool in India for BI and we are keen on tapping these resources. Applying BI to data analysis will yield results which will be beneficial to the client for not just understanding the consumption pattern of their product, but also improve the quality of their sales and services.

BI today had become pervasive, real time and predictive. The majority of our investment goes in recruiting people and there is a huge growth potential in this segment,” said Stephen Gallagher, senior director, AIMS. He added, “We have invested $100m on BI for recruitment and building offshore capabilities in India, Manila and China.”
